Sioux City Rendezvous

John & Kristi met in Sioux City, Iowa over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Why Sioux City? It is exactly halfway between St. Louis and Bismarck! We spent Saturday looking at things at the mall, enjoyed some lunch at Applebees, and then made our way to Target. We had a list of what we wanted and figured the entire process might take 2-3 hours at most. Six hours later, the day had turned to night...and we finally left the store...sore feet, glazed over eyes and all! On Sunday, we went to Redeemer Lutheran Church. For Kristi's St. John, Ellisville friends...Pastor Pete is from Sioux City and his dad used to be the pastor there. We were able to meet Pastor Pete's parents Sunday morning. After church, we had some lunch...then off to the mall to register at Sears. This was the most frustrating part of the weekend! The store employees didn't seem to know how to do a wedding registry. Once they finally found someone who knew what was happening, we were not able to get the scanner to work. They sent us off for a break and told us they'd call if they couldn't get it to work. An hour later, we arrived back at Sears, ready to scan all the tools John is hoping to receive...and the scanner STILL didn't work! So...Sears is on hold for now. We are checking things out at our own locations. The weekend was topped off with 7 inches of snow! Secretly, we both had hoped to be snowed in together...but it wasn't that bad! We're both safely home and back to work. All in all...we had a great weekend together...Made a lot of key decisions and just enjoyed being together. We plan to repeat the weekend rendezvous next month during the President's Day weekend.

Finally figured this whole thing out, sorta. So instead of spending my entire Friday evening working, I distracted myself with your blog. So I can now say I am a little more informed and should get back to work before I get kicked out of here.
